Almost exactly one year after the release of Clancy, Twenty One Pilots have announced their seventh studio album, Breach.

The Ohio-based duo revealed the news on social media on May 21. While the album is set to arrive in September, no official release date has been confirmed yet.

Fans can expect the first single, titled “The Contract,” on June 12.

Alongside the album news, Twenty One Pilots hinted at the continuation of their long-running narrative arc. In their post, they wrote: “Hello Clancy. Hello Blurryface. Let’s finish this.”

This reference suggests Breach will bring closure to themes explored in their past albums. The storyline began in 2015’s Blurryface and continued through Trench (2018), Scaled and Icy (2021), and Clancy (2024).

The band, formed by Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun in 2009, initially released two independent albums. Their major label debut, Vessel, arrived in 2013 and peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard 200.

They earned their first No. 1 album with Blurryface in 2015. Every album since has charted in the top three.

Earlier this month, Twenty One Pilots concluded the Clancy World Tour with several shows in the U.K.

One of the final concerts, held at Manchester’s AO Arena on May 11, gained unexpected attention. During the show’s closing moments, a fan was caught on video taking one of Josh Dun’s drums off stage.

In the widely circulated clip, another fan can be heard saying, “I really don’t think you should take that.”

The drum appeared to be stolen, but fans quickly launched a grassroots search effort. Their work paid off.

On May 12, tour videographer Sax posted on Instagram that the missing drum had been safely returned.

Breach is now one of the most anticipated albums of 2025.
