Billy Idol is charging into 2025 with power, purpose, and punk rock passion.
His new album, Dream Into It, drops April 25. It’s his first full-length album in 11 years.
Idol isn’t slowing down. He’s also launching a major tour with Joan Jett starting April 30 in Phoenix.
“I figured, why not just make a full album?” Idol says from his Los Angeles home. “Let’s go for it!”
The album is a concept record—divided into two parts: Dying to Love and I’m Reborn.
It’s a raw, emotional ride through Idol’s life. From punk roots to addiction to redemption, nothing’s off limits.
Tracks include: 🎤 “77” with Avril Lavigne, revisiting England’s punk era
🔥 “Wildside” with Joan Jett, their shared past in full view
💔 “People I Love,” reflecting on personal regrets
🕺 “Still Dancing,” a defiant celebration of survival
“I’ve been sober since 2010,” Idol says. “It took 15 to 20 years to feel whole again.”
Guitarist Steve Stevens returns to co-write. The album was produced by Tommy English, with help from Nick Long and others.
The record features a live band sound. It’s stripped down, powerful, and full of heart.
Idol’s voice remains gritty and strong. His lyrics? Honest and filled with hard-won wisdom.
He says time with his grandkids inspired the reflective tone. “They make me feel like I’m reborn,” he shares.
Also coming soon: a documentary called Billy Idol Should Be Dead. It premieres June 10 at Tribeca Festival.
“It’s not just a glorified ‘Behind the Music,’” Idol insists. “It’s real and raw.”
As for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? He’s in the fan vote’s top five.
“It’d be incredible,” he says. “A real full-circle moment.”
Billy Idol is still dancing. Still rocking. And very much alive.
