Altimate Tour Concert Review and Photos

The Altimate Tour made its way to Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Friday, August 16, 2019. Wow! This blast from the past definitely made for an amazing night. Arriving at the venue, I saw many fans reminiscing about their childhood as they were excited to see the night’s lineup perform. First up were Canadian rock legends, Our Lady Peace. These guys have been rocking the stage since 1992 and they definitely did not disappoint. They played a short but powerful set which included “Drop Me in the Water,” “Clumsy” and “Starseed.” They did a fantastic job opening up the night.

Next up, American rock legends, +Live+. What else can be said about these guys other than their illustrious career, filled with numerous radio charting hits, is one of the best in history. Their energy on stage, mixed with their powerful sound made for a very enjoyable set that the audience really enjoyed. They played many of their original songs including “All Over You,” “I Alone,” and “Lightning Crashes.” They played a couple of cover songs, “Losing My Religion” (R.E.M.) and “Paint It Black” (The Rolling Stones). Their set had a very interesting dynamic to it filled with moments of chill vibing music to moments of powerful rock and roll, to which everyone was singing along.

Finally, the British rock icons, Bush, hit the stage. I had the opportunity to photograph these guys last year and they were incredible then and even better this time, as the energy they brought was off the chain.. I definitely think this was partly due to the set being filmed for DIRECTV. There were video crews all over the venue capturing every angle of the set. Bush played all of their hits including “Machinehead,” “Glycerine” and “Comedown.” The crowd response was amazing and the band sounded great, as always. If you haven’t noticed the trend by now, The Altimate Tour was filled with rock legends from all over the globe, which made for a diverse, amazing show.
